Welcoming Adna Pekmezovic and Zann Ali to the 2048 Ventures team
Last month, we announced our inaugural 2048 Ventures Fund 1.
We had a tremendous amount of interest in the roles, with over 100 highly qualified applicants. Adna and Zann stood out, and we believe are going to play key roles in helping us build 2048 Ventures.
Adna and Zann are incredibly impressive young professionals. What mattered to us most is their shared passion for earliest stage investing and alignment with 2048 Ventures’ values.
Adna and Zann are excited about the challenge ahead: to help back founders building the best technology companies across geographies. This is the mission of 2048 Ventures, and this team is ready to cover it from A to Z!
Here are their backgrounds and short bios:
Adna Pekmezovic is a Senior Associate at 2048 Ventures. Prior to 2048, Adna started her career as an investment banker at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she spent 6 years in the Leveraged Finance group. There, she focused on leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and evaluated and conducted diligence on various companies across sectors, with a primary focus on technology.
Adna holds a B.B.A in Finance with honors from the George Washington University. You can email Adna at firstname.lastname@example.org and see Adna's connections on LinkedIn.
Zann Ali is a Senior Associate at 2048 Ventures. Prior to 2048, Zann was at Putnam Investments, where he collaborated closely with the Chief Investment and Operating Officers on strategic initiatives and special projects. Before Putnam, Zann spent four years at Fidelity Investments, first with the company’s internal strategy team and then with Fidelity Health, a Fidelity-funded InsurTech startup that he helped launch.
Zann holds a B.S. in Statistics & Finance with Honors from Babson College and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. At MIT, Zann was a pre-seed investor with Dorm Room Fund, where he was fortunate to support and invest in 20+ student-founded startups.
