🚀 Introducing the 2048 Ventures University Fellowship

2048 Ventures is a thesis-driven, early-stage venture capital firm leading pre-seed and seed rounds in Vertical AI, Deep Tech, Health, and Bio. We are based in Boston and NYC, and partner with visionary founders at the earliest moments in their journeys.

Some of our best companies and partnerships first emerged on campus, inside labs, and within student founder communities and that's why today’s announcement is particularly special. We’re excited to launch the 2048 Ventures Fellowship, a program for the next generation of investors and builders.

The program has 4 Fellowship Tracks, aligned with our focus areas as a firm.

Fellowship Tracks:

• Vertical AI – applied AI/ML transforming SMB and SaaS verticals.
• Deep Tech – frontier technologies with technical and data moats.
• Health – innovations across care delivery, digital health, medical devices, and beyond.
• Bio – computational biology and life sciences at the intersection of tech and biology.

🎯 Who We’re Looking For

We’re building a small, highly curated cohort of Fellows across Boston. Ideal Fellows are curious, deeply networked, and thrive at the intersection of startups, technology, and venture.

You should consider this program if:

• You are a full-time student at a university in Boston and graduate in 2027 or beyond (talented undergrads, MBAs, MS, or PhDs).
  • Undergrads in their sophomore or junior years
  • MBA and Master’s students in their first year
  • PhD students in their second or third years
• You have a passion for startups and venture capital.
• You have the hustle, love networking, and love running around and meeting a lot of people.
• You have a strong network on campus, specifically within startup communities.
• You meet founders regularly, love learning about their businesses, and love helping them.
• You’re naturally curious about emerging trends in AI, Deep Tech, Health, or Bio.

🤝🏽 What You'll Do

• Tell us which founders and startups we should be meeting. You’ll act as our eyes and ears on campus.
• Present and discuss startups you find with other Fellows and the 2048 Ventures team.
• Embed yourself in the campus startup ecosystem. Meet founders early: in dorm rooms, labs, hackathons, accelerators, and coffee chats.
• Build relationships and new networks. This Fellowship is about people first, knowing who’s building, what they’re working on, and where momentum is forming on campus.

🤝🏽 What You’ll Get

• Real Exposure to Venture Capital: Work closely with the 2048 Ventures team and get a front-row seat to pre-seed investing. You’ll learn how to source and identify exceptional founders, network on campus, and exchange ideas with some of the brightest minds in Boston.
• Direct Access to 2048 Ventures: Learn from our investment team on how venture actually works, from sourcing to cap tables and everything in between.
• Learning Sessions: Regular workshops on venture capital, startup trends, plus AMA sessions with our network.
• Pathway into Venture: Formal affiliation with 2048 Ventures. Fellows who stand out will receive references, introductions, and ongoing support as they explore careers in venture, startups, or company-building.
• Swag & Perks: Fellows will receive 2048 swag (tastefully nerdy, of course) and access to our community events in Boston.

Important dates to keep in mind: the deadline to apply is January 18th, but we'll do rolling interviews starting January 12th, so the sooner you apply, the better.

In the application, you'll be asked to share: 

• Your LinkedIn profile
• A short video (~3 minutes) telling us:
  • Why you’re excited about the 2048 Ventures Fellowship
  • 2 examples of how you’ve hustled
  • Startup communities you’re involved with on campus
  • Two recent startups you’ve seen on campus, how you found them, and why you are excited about them
